I like to call people what they are. Been doing it a while now. My college roommate was called Roommate. Even pets. My little white dog (American Eskimo) was called Little White Dog.
That's probably why I like this snippet of a scene from Pulp Fiction (script at http://www.imsdb.com/scripts/Pulp-Fiction.html):
*While Butch waits for his smokes, Vincent just sips his
coffee, staring at him. Butch looks over at him.*
BUTCH
Lookin' at somethin', friend?
VINCENT
I ain't your friend, palooka.
*Butch does a slow turn toward Vincent.*
BUTCH
What was that?
VINCENT
I think ya heard me just fine, punchy.
(Written by Quentin Tarantino and Roger Avary)
It's calling a boxer punchy that gets me. Because. He. Punches! So pity. You can try this today. One of my favorites is for phone users, especially those public cell phone loud mouths who lack all social filters, to call them phony. As in, "Hey phony, keep it to yourself, huh?"
It's simple: just add the "y" to verbs or nouns to create pejorative nicknames.
Got any good ones? Call me Bloggy.
